FAQ

How much does sod installation cost in DFW?

Professional sod installation in Dallas-Fort Worth typically runs $2–$5 per square foot all-in, covering materials, labor, site prep, and minor sprinkler adjustments. A typical front yard (around 1,500–1,800 sq ft) runs $1,800–$3,200. A full front and back yard project can range from $4,800–$9,500 depending on grass type and site conditions. Larger projects often get bulk pricing that lowers the per-square-foot cost. Exquisite Outdoor Solutions provides free estimates with exact measurements before any commitment.

What type of sod is best for North Texas?

The three warm-season grasses that perform best in DFW are Bermuda, St. Augustine, and Zoysia and the right choice depends on your yard's sun exposure, how much maintenance you want, and your budget. Bermuda is the most affordable, extremely drought-tolerant, and ideal for full-sun yards but goes dormant and browns in winter. St. Augustine handles shade better than Bermuda and stays greener longer — the best choice if you have large trees. Zoysia is the premium option: dense, soft, tolerant of both sun and partial shade, and requires less mowing and watering once established.

What is the best time of year to install sod in DFW?

Spring and fall are the ideal windows. Spring installation benefits from seasonal rainfall and gives the sod time to root before summer heat peaks. Fall installation lets the grass establish and green up before winter, coming back strong the following spring. Summer installation is possible but requires much closer attention to watering — new sod in 100°F heat has very little margin for error. Winter is the least ideal timing for most grass types.
